Privacy Policy

Bulbul · India · Last updated 23 September 2026

Bulbul is free. No subscription, no card, and nothing renews.

This policy is for the parent who creates a Bulbul account. It follows the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. We collect only what we need to run a free app of short stories for children aged 8 and under.

Operator: Bulbul at bulbul.club. Contact: akshaya@bulbul.club.

Who this is for

Bulbul is for children aged 8 and under. The parent holds the account. The child only watches stories. There is no child chat, comments, or share in the watch session. We do not show advertising in the app. We do not sell personal data. There is no paid plan and we do not take a card.

What we collect

We do not collect photographs, contacts, location, payment details, or microphone recordings for the child’s profile.

Why we collect it

Legal basis under the DPDP Act: the parent’s consent (OTP and agreeing to these policies).

Who we share with

We do not sell data or use it for third-party advertising. We do not share data with a payment company, because this version of Bulbul does not take payment.

How long we keep it

We keep the account while you use Bulbul. If you ask us to delete the account, we delete the child profile and parent phone record from our systems. We aim to finish this within 30 days.

Your rights — including deletion

Email akshaya@bulbul.club with subject “Delete my Bulbul account” and the +91 number in the app. Or use Parent zone → Delete account. Only the parent should request this.

Children

Bulbul is made for children aged 8 and under, with a parent. Minimum data. No social feed. No generative AI speaking to the child.

Security and changes

We use HTTPS. If this policy changes in a material way, we update the date above. Questions: akshaya@bulbul.club. You may also approach the Data Protection Board of India.
